Windmill - The Awards

At the recent annual awards dinner given by the California Park & Recreation Society, District IV, honoring about two dozen Bay Area volunteers, our windmill committee was honored for their efforts. The citation reads, in part: “Their ingenuity, hard work and dedication ensured the transport, design management and installation of an authentic windmill, restored tower and original pump which now stands tall to provide a more complete and interpretive view of how water was obtained and collected on farms and homes in the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries.” The recipients, Ginny Kaminski and Charles Grant, are shown in the photo at right.
